Angst
David Lewry's second book, "Angst", was born from the anger and sorrow of losing a good friend and former lover to cancer.
David was sober for less than 30 days when she passed away; the act of writing "Angst" allowed him to focus, and direct the pain and anger away from the sometimes overwhelming desire to move back into active addiction.
Although portions of the story are factual, it should be considered a work of fiction because the characters are imaginary and any resemblance to the living or the dead is purely coincidental.
David's ability to color the lines between fact and fiction make his work unique and a must read for anyone.
Added description of David's book:
"Angst is the brutal and raw experience following a murderous social worker broken by loss, disillusionment, and breaks from reality; he walks the reader through his process of reckoning these two very different lives in an unforgettable and highly entertaining manner.
It is a refreshing and often disturbing look into the duality of man and the battle between good and evil in his heart. David drives home a powerful message taking the struggle to the extreme end over and over again.
His style demands the attention of the reader with brilliantly painted lines between the two extremes of the human spirit. However defined these lines appear, the reader still cannot help but find themselves deeply sympathetic to the plight of his anti-hero despite the extremes he is willing to go in order to accomplish his tasks. "
