Our loss, Our gain
The dark prevailed upon our sorrow.
As the torchlight cut like slivers,
Bent from blindness,
Break free to daylight though we might,
We wished away,
We dreamt today.
Fought for light to see.
Strangled by effort,
Born free yet bound in prison,
Look deep within,
You saw more of me,
Than I of you,
For the dark in me,
Now here we are,
We wished away,
Of your light I dreamt today.
Yet such oppressive dark enshrined our tomb.
Tore us inside out,
Left deep within a certain doubt,
Of light’s existence,
Once and for all,
We wished away,
Of my dark you dreamt today.
Our hearts became as one.
Yours to mine did blend,
And mine to yours did lend,
An empty blackness,
Tainted in love and light by you,
At once the mix complete,
The grey dark light sat upon our feet,
We dreamt today,
We wished our pains away.
As the fading black rode lightening rails…
Fragmented segments made memory’s flame,
The embers which burnt no more,
But grey ash left before,
Our spirits soared deep within,
And bodies caved from unseen force,
We dreamt no pain or ill today,
We wished away,
Yet, untrue remained,
As our darkness grew and death became.
As the torchlight cut like slivers,
Bent from blindness,
Break free to daylight though we might,
We wished away,
We dreamt today.
Fought for light to see.
Strangled by effort,
Born free yet bound in prison,
Look deep within,
