Dream’s Delight

Dawn broke, lending a shimmered glare to the beautiful, fading dream.

Silently swimming behind the ear, searched and sought, cried and fought, yet you were no longer here.

We kissed, made love bare holding bodies, gripping tight.

Prayed solace within the cold and distant withering dark night.

Felt your lips lingering, up and down, across sweat soaked skin naked and scared.

Wandering found me all alone, bare boned terrified and thin.

Eyes upon heaven’s gate did linger, could not feel the distance climbing.

Sex soaked dream through time and space made wait, the hunger grew and swallowed the rabbit’s head.

We are born here, entrenched and bound through fits and fight, through distance building the dream’s delight.

Long past isolation survived the need, for you to hesitate, when days fill quickly and no solitude will heed.

Today, tomorrow, the few until our return brings to light our certain well deserved sense of right.

The penetrating exhaustive heat, skin begs to feel, cannot though sweltering desert shines pervasive hot.

We are born here, entrenched and bound through fits and fight, through distance building from dreams delight.

You are gone can feel the empty bed, bleeding beyond the wall in a sunless mind.

The dream creating tight bitterness, weaving storm clouds gathered, slowly leaves waking head.

Replaced in turn by a tired, resolute, undying temperamental burn.

Thoughts of you, while time thinly strings the veil of joy I ponder, veins catch fire, such madness growing I never knew.

Though angry longing cries to the heavens destroy, solid ancient lies, a thousand years could hinder less the mounting joy from a grey sky, painted blue.

Days wear on, time winds ever slowly, still I search the rooms though you’re gone, turning a bitter morn to anxious afternoon.

To the world, I send my look of tortured scorn.

We are born here, entrenched and bound through fits and fight, through distance building in dream’s delight.

Silence altered without permission, fever broke when heart beat fluttered.

Your lips lay close resting near, loving whispers, I long to hear lapping gently to my ear.

Naked distance, a slippery dream, slithered soft and quiet up our stream.

No trace, dead memory found inside its wake, this time without choice we’ll never take.

We are born here, anxious in time’s passing, song bird’s love song forming between lips, tongue and ears…replaced by the numb sound of white noise until at

last you are here.
