Counselling and Coaching
I have been fortunate to acquire a combination of experience and ongoing education through working as a counsellor, manager, special constable, and author for the past 18 years. I offer a wide range of services including group treatment, one-on-one counselling, educational seminars and workshops, and family counselling.
Although families, addiction and crisis/trauma counselling have been my focus based on areas of employment - my education in social work provided a general counselling approach, which examines a broad spectrum of personal issues.
I incorporate a multi-disciplinary treatment delivery system based on each individual’s need and a comprehensive knowledge of working with individuals from a wide spectrum of economic and social backgrounds.
My treatment philosophy is a blend of the twelve step recovery model and a holistic approach bringing together the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional components of the human being. I do incorporate the use of any existing model available to assist the individual in recovery from their personal struggle as required.
Through publishing my first five novels during the 2010 calendar year and having my book “Channel of the Broken Gun” used in a University of Calgary Sociology course in that same year, I have been able to speak to a diverse population about addiction and the recovery process in both an educational format and instructional setting.
The non-fiction series I have written; “Channel of the Broken Gun”, “Head”, and “Empty” have been heralded as eye opening looks into the mind of an active addict and that of someone recovering from years of alcohol and drug abuse (Channel of the Broken Gun is a raw description of active addiction, alcoholism, and the obsessive mind while the last two describe in raw detail the process of recovering).
My experience with running group treatment for groups of 8 – 20 individuals over varied group lengths, as well as working with individuals on a one on one basis for 18 years has allowed me to develop a comprehensive group and individual treatment program, which can be adapted for larger groups and for variations of time – i.e. 8 weeks, 6 weeks, 4 weeks, 2 weeks, or as short as 3 days. The basic fundamentals of the program do not alter with an adaptive time frame or group dynamics.
I am available to travel and develop personalised recovery programs as well as group style treatment.

It is my goal to ensure to the best of my ability, that all who need support are able to obtain it regardless of socio-economic background. The best way with which to accomplish this is through a wide variety of financial supports. I thank you in advance for any support you may be able to provide. We give so that others may live.
