If anyone is wondering why there are links to the Fresh Start Recovery Centre’s website on every page of my writing site… wonder no more. Just as I conducted research to discover the merits of donating all of the money from my book sales to Central United Church’s Recovery Ministry, I have recently come to know the Fresh Start Recovery Centre intimately and want to let everyone know what wonderful work they have been doing for many years and a little about their present direction.
They are moving into a new facility which will take an already stellar program into a building with more rooms for residential treatment, more space for one on one counseling work, classrooms for their incredible group treatment program, exercise room for the physical rehabilitation process, and a gymnasium to mention a few of the incredible additions to their programs made possible by a new facility.
To those readers from Calgary and surrounding area; check out the Fresh Start Recovery Centre link for upcoming events and information on how to get involved! And if you’re not from Calgary or area, check it out anyways because you or someone you love may be in need and are simply looking for the answer to your quandary.
As always, I encourage as many people as possible to get involved with their local charities! Research and find that place where your heart takes you! Whether it is to volunteer or donate money, your help is what keeps all of these organizations in a position to help others.
Thank you,
David Lewry
